I drew inspiration from the plant and animal kingdoms, observing how many species respond to danger with survival strategies such as camouflage, metamorphosis, or the temporary color shift of a body part. On a more symbolic level, it’s as if nature, under pressure, triggers a warning signal—a red light flashing against the threat.

Hence my reflection on the devastating issue of poaching in Africa, with a particular focus on the illegal hunting of elephants, driven by an increasingly ferocious and unsustainable trade.

Through a series of images featuring elephants and their natural habitat, I sought to give voice to this silent cry, scattering red mineral powder across the photographic surfaces. This gesture is not merely aesthetic—it’s a symbol of a plea for help, a visual act that turns photography into both an act of denunciation and a space for listening.
